UBI Consulting with its partners shortlisted for Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Power Sector Regional Master Plan (all Centrala Asian countries). The projects identified under the master plan will increase energy security, energy efficiency and trade by optimizing integrated transmission and generation expansion between Afghanistan and the four CARs of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The study will address export opportunities from the five countries to neighboring regions. The master plan will study the integrated development of the regional power system and identify long-term solutions to balancing demand and supply, taking into account current assets, demand projections, and trade opportunities.
UBI Consulting with its partners shortlisted for ADB's Capacity Building for Microfinance Development project (Uzbekistan). the TA will train banks on micro and small enterprises credit appraisal customised to ADB requirements; sensitise PCB's staff on the need for increasing MSE loans to women; educate women borrowers on business plan preparation and credit application; sensitise and judge PCBs onlending to microcredit organizations; improve PCB's transparency by recommending their display of MSE loan procedures on their web-sites and train their staff in microfinance accounting and reporing standarts.
UBI Consulting with its partners shortlisted for Developing a national integrated waste management strategy and action plan in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main project purpose is as follows: To contribute to an improved management of waste by promoting
higher standards at waste facilities, more effective waste prevention initiatives, increased capacities for waste
collection and sorting, as well as increasing reuse, recovery and safe disposal of waste. The main results to be achieved are as follows: A national, integrated, waste management strategy for hazardous, industrial, and municipal waste types in
the country for the period 2012 to 2025. An indicative five year action plan comprising guidance to the National Waste Management Centre on
implementing the key strategic priorities through the development of an immediate action plan and an
investment plan in two selected pilot regions.
